New Brows - The good, The bad, The not so cute.
The longevity of your permanent makeup all depends on you following the aftercare instructions.
Limit your shower time limits so that you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure area out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair facing away from the water. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.
Day 2-14 do not splash water on the face area when washing and keep products far away from the brow area. Face wash should be removed with a gentle facial cloth, but never touching the brow area.
Treating your new brows with extreme care is essential for the best healed results. Following and being consistent with good aftercare will result in beautiful healed brows.
Avoid
Touching, picking or scratching your brows as this could cause irritation, infection & loss of pigment.
Exercise or sweat for at least 7 days after your treatment.
Brow products, makeup, cleansers, lotions etc. on or close to your brows for 2 weeks to avoid irritation & cross contamination.
Saunas, steam rooms or swimming pools for 1 week due to sweating, risk of getting your brows wet & hygiene.
Facials or other face beauty treatments done for 4 weeks to avoid irritation & cross contamination.
Tanning beds, chemical peels or any strong face treatment for 4 weeks as your skin will not be healed enough.
Anti-aging creams, chemical peels, acids or retinols on or close to your brows ever! These products will alter your skin and impact the pigment retention.
Do
Follow the aftercare properly to allow your eyebrows to heal as well as they should.
Keep your eyebrows as clean and dry, but moisturized, as you can for the first two weeks.
Too much lymph fluid, water, sweat & oil will result in scabs instead of a film. Scabs will result in a poor pigment retention.
Take ibuprofen if your eyebrows feel swollen.
The Post Procedure Golden Rules
Use ONLY the provided aftercare ointment, unless it presents a medical threat.
Use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep (satin or silk)
Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days
Let any film, flakes, scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color
No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks
Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one FULL week
Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.
Avoid long, hot showers for the first 10 days
Avoid swimming, lakes, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs for the first 10 days
Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the area while healing
Avoid eyebrow grooming while the brows are still exfoliating (2 WEEKS MINIMUM)
